Sharpe Books was set-up by Richard Foreman. For many years Richard worked as a consultant and publicist to numerous bestselling authors, including Simon Sebag-Montefiore, William Dalrymple and Kate Williams.
Richard went on to found Endeavour Press. He also set-up The London History Festival and is a judge and sponsor for the HWA Gold Crown.
Sharpe Books publishes both bestselling authors and new writers in various genres, including Crime/Thrillers, History, Biography and Historical Fiction. We concentrate on building brands and re-promoting books both sides of the Atlantic, as well as in other territories around the world.
As much as Sharpe Books is committed to republishing backlist titles by established authors we are also keen to find new voices. As well as working with literary agents we are also happy for authors to submit direct to us (although we would ask that you carefully read our submission guidelines beforehand).
Sharpe Books encourages its staff to be engaged and enterprising. We are always looking to find new talent and discover new ways of promoting books and building relationships with trade publications, bloggers, agents and literary magazines. Publishing and promoting books is always a collegiate effort.
Sharpe Books is a publishing house which marries the old with the new. We believe in publishing good books and promoting them in innovative and enterprising ways.
